Overbrook Grocery
Before the renovation, this structure looked like a tear-down. It featured a similar stepped-down facade with old siding, and you could tell it had seen better days in the past. It was used as storage for a while before being purchased by our clients, but legend says it once served as a neighborhood grocery store back in the neighborhood’s first years. My client had a keen eye for its potential and asked me to create something that would pay homage to the historic neighborhood and pass the Design Review Board's approval.
Unique design with historic roots
We came up with the idea to compliment its current facade and history by designing this completely remodeled "grocery store" home. We designed a sizable master suite for the main floor as well as an open kitchen, dining, and living space that was surrounded by a wrap around porch. We added an upstairs which included 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a large built-in bunk room, and common space.
